MFS in the Adirondacks

The new Messages From Survivors Exhibit

We're excited to announce that the Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS) will launch the Messages From Survivors exhibit in two libraries this September, and will send it to a dozen more sites over the following two years.

This partnership aligns with our goal of bringing personal stories of Holocaust survivors and their families to audiences outside of metropolitan areas. "Meeting" Jewish families and hearing survivors tell their own stories via video can help dispel stereotypes about Jews and combat Holocaust distortion.

The Messages from Survivors exhibit had a school in Tallahassee, Florida

We're grateful to the Holocaust Education Resource Council which is the first organization to bring Messages From Survivors into schools. They developed an innovative way to survey the students and staff by using a QR code linked to a survey. Read some of the enthusiastic feedback from Tallahassee, Florida:

"The [exhibit] was very educational and well organized, bringing awareness to an important piece of history."

"The personal stories were very captivating, heartbreaking, and worked well in humanizing the victims and grounding their experiences in reality."

"I liked hearing the stories to understand what truly happened from their perspective."

"I liked that Jack and Anna ended up together."
